Easily the most common facial aesthetic surgery we perform at MAXiM Facial Aesthetics, a mini-facelift focuses on the troublesome lower third of the face, tightening the skin of the cheeks and jowls. It is performed via small incisions around the ears. The benefits are less scarring, swelling, and pain than is typical in a full facelift. This type of procedure is ideal for anyone noticing early signs of aging: wrinkles, creases, sagging skin.

A full or traditional facelift (rhytidectomy) may employ multiple techniques, but in all cases, excess skin is removed, underlying tissue tightened, and the remaining skin is redraped over a contoured area for a rejuvenated overall look. Fat loss is restored, adding a fresh fullness to the face.

Often performed in conjunction with a facelift, a necklift (platysmaplasty) targets sagging skin of the jawline and neck, with incisions made behind the ears and under the chin. Excess fatty deposits under the chin are removed, either through liposuction or surgical excision, and loose neck muscles tightened – for a better-defined chin and neck.

A necklift is sometimes referred to as a chin tuck.

Patients not wanting a complete necklift, can opt for these less invasive options.

A neck liposuction provides the beautiful neckline you desire by suctioning excess fat from under the chin, without any additional work in the area (it doesn’t address sagging skin, for example). For many patients, liposuction alone is enough to obtain the desired results.

Neck contouring is entirely dependent on a patient's desired outcome. It may involve reshaping the chin or removing the sagging skin of “turkey neck.”

Liposuction and contouring of the neck may be performed individually or combined in a single procedure, or with other facial procedures.

Chin implants can change the profile of your face – for people with no jawline definition or receding chins. The surgery enhances the length, width, or volume of the chin to add a pleasing balance and symmetry to the face.

Ear surgery (otoplasty) is often done to repair damage to the outer ear due to trauma or to correct congenital defects. Ear lobe repair is a reconstructive procedure to surgically adjust stretched or sagging earlobes due to piercing-related complications or other causes.

Lip lifts and lip implants are surgical, longer-lasting alternatives to dermal fillers and injectables.

Lip lifts are an increasingly popular procedure in which the upper lip is elevated to create a more aesthetically pleasing shape and the appearance of fuller lips. Lip implants – which surgically place an implant, typically of silicone or other pliable substance, into one or both lips – offer a more permanent solution for patients with thin lips, or to improve lip definition.

The Buccal fat pad (sometimes called Bichat’s fat pad) refers to the fat masses located between the nostrils and corners of the mouth. At MAXiM Facial Aesthetics, we perform an excision procedure to remove some of the fatty tissue in this area to thin a patient’s cheeks and improve contour of the face.

Because dimples – the slight indent in the skin of the cheek – are an irresistibly cute addition to any smile, patients without them sometimes ask for a dimpleplasty.

In this minimally invasive surgical procedure, a muscle inside the cheek is secured with a suture that, when tightened, creates the tell-tale hollow of a dimple.

Men may be interested in a dimpleplasty that adds a charming dimple to the chin.
